All individuals who operate or supervise the operation of a drinking water treatment facility must possess a water treatment operator certificate. The T1 (Treatment 1) certificate exam can be completed as long as you have obtained a high school diploma or GED.

Treatment exams are offered twice a year in May and November. The final filing date for the May exam is March 1 and the final filing date for the November exam is September 1.
